Since 1718
History of the Estate
Château La Vaisinerie is a former outbuilding of Château de Puisseguin. The historic buildings were constructed during the vineyard's expansion in the 18th century.
The estate was built in two phases: the first around 1685 with the construction of the main house, and the second in 1718 for the farm buildings. The walls of the Château are thus steeped in this rich history, as evidenced by the engraving of the year 1718 on the wall of the wine cellar.
In 2004, the Bessede family, owners until 2019, undertook major renovations to restore the estate. These renovations were carried out with respect for the architectural practices of the time, allowing Château La Vaisinerie to regain its former splendor.
Since July 2019, the Moses family has owned Château La Vaisinerie. The CEO, Mr. Alain Moses, had a career as a wine broker for over 20 years before founding the wine trading company TWINS in 1994, specializing in Bordeaux fine wines, named in reference to his sons, Anthony and Sébastien.
Château La Vaisinerie remains a family-owned estate that employs three staff members year-round.

The Vineyard
Owner and CEO
Alain Moses
Broker, wine merchant, and now winemaker.
I enjoy taking on projects and implementing them quickly. I am very impatient, especially when hunger strikes as early as 10 a.m. I dislike inertia, incompetence, and a lack of flexibility.
Administrative and Commercial Director
Isabelle Picazo
With many years of experience in various wine estates, her skills are diverse, ranging from property management to sales administration.
I am fulfilled in my work, in a magical setting close to nature, and honored to work with Mr. Moses.
Vineyard Manager
Ludovic Grassy
With a CAP in Vines and Wines, he has been the Vineyard Manager for 12 years. He worked with the previous owner and has continued with Mr. Moses since 2019.
I am happy and proud to work at this magnificent family estate; I enjoy taking care of it.
Our Appellation
The Puisseguin Saint-Émilion appellation
The Puisseguin Saint-Émilion appellation is one of the four "satellite" appellations of Saint-Émilion, located adjacent to the famous limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion.
The appellation covers 730 hectares of production.
This appellation produces only red wines with a dense, deep color, and a wide aromatic palette:
- Grapes
- Merlot, the most represented grape variety at 90% of the plantings, contributes color, complexity, smoothness, and roundness.
- Cabernet Franc (10% of the planted vines) adds slightly spicy aromatic finesse, freshness, and tannic structure, giving the wine great aging potential.
Our Terroir
The Vineyard - The Terroir
The estate spans a 25-hectare green oasis, where the vines are surrounded by numerous trees, hedges, and a pond. The practice of sustainable agriculture on the 12-hectare vineyard promotes the flourishing of local biodiversity, which is a genuine concern for the estate.
Birdhouses have been installed, for example. The estate's terroirs are primarily clay-limestone, especially on the plateau, and clay-loam for the parcels situated below. This is similar to that of Saint-Emilion, these soils provide good water supply for the vines, which is ideal during dry periods. The average age of the vineyard is 35 years.
Our Cultivation Practices:
• Cover cropping every other row
• Pruning using single and double Guyot methods
• Leaf removal in the spring
• Green harvesting on the most vigorous vines, which, combined with leaf removal, optimizes sun exposure for grape ripening
Environmental Value
Environment, Our Commitments
Château La Vaisinerie has been committed to sustainable agriculture for many years.
The vineyard requires constant care and protection. Sustainable pest management involves "interventions decided after assessing the actual risks at the plot level, through the implementation of appropriate monitoring methods, and by reference to tolerance or intervention thresholds, using treatments selected based on criteria of minimal ecological impact. as well as the active substance, quantity, timing of application, and respect for natural predators.
We monitor and evaluate our Treatment Frequency Index (TFI) and frequently use biocontrol products.
At Château La Vaisinerie, we implement detailed monitoring methods for all our plots to continuously assess risks and minimize treatment needs. We have planted several kilometers of hedgerows to segment the plots and absorb runoff, and we utilize the estate's water resources with a small lake.
This is not organic farming, but rather choosing treatments with the least environmental impact by minimizing frequency and quantities while ensuring the health of the vines and the quality of the wine.
Since the 2019 vintage, Château La Vaisinerie has been certified "High Environmental Value." This certification demonstrates and rewards the efforts and commitments made over many years on the estate.
Once the malolactic fermentations are complete, a tasting of each vat is conducted with our winemaker, Julien Viaud, to select the batches that will be aged in barrels. This aging in French oak barrels then lasts for 12 to 14 months.
Our barrels are one-third new, one-third second-use, and one-third third-use.
Our Wines
We produce only red wines with a dense, deep color and a wide aromatic range:
• Merlot, the most represented grape variety at 90% of the planting, contributes color, complexity, smoothness, and roundness.
• Cabernet Franc (10% of the planted vines) adds slightly spicy aromatic finesse , freshness, and tannic structure, giving the wine excellent aging potential.
The wines charm with their meaty and juicy texture, but never heavy. The well-present tannins are finely integrated.
Marketing
We produce approximately 55,000 bottles per vintage. All of our production is bottled on the estate.
• We export some of our wines, notably to the United States, Canada, and Asia.
• Our preferred distribution channels for the French market are wine merchants, restaurants, online retailers, and events.
• 100% of our production is bottled.
